A Portrait of Cuba
BYO Studio Gallery, Bay View (Milwaukee, WI) • April 15– May 15, 2011
The “Portrait of Cuba” show is series of images and stories collected during a December 2010 cultural research trip to the country.
The inspiration behind creating this series was to collect information about the everyday lives of people in Cuba in the words of the people, and to use this information to offer a unique glimpse into the lives of the people inside this country, which remains largely isolated from the United States after five decades of economic embargo.
