Q: What happens after I book my portrait session?
A: After booking the session, I’ll contact you for a brief consultation in order
to learn more about you and provide some basic information and suggestions
about wardrobe, styling and props. We’ll discuss where you’d like to shoot your session (I can make recommendations from a number of pre-selected locations if you don’t have a specific place in mind yet).

Q: How soon after my portrait session will my images be available?
A: A password-protected online gallery of your images will be available approximately 2 weeks after your session (Please allow 3-4 weeks for wedding photos and larger events). You will then be able to view and select the images that you would like to include on disk.
If your package includes a CD/DVD with high resolution images or you’ve chosen to add this to your order, this will be sent within 1 week of your final selection of images from your online gallery. Prints can be ordered directly through your private gallery or by contacting me directly. Please refer to the “ordering prints” section for list of print sizes and pricing.
Should you want to order prints at a later date, your online gallery will remain available for 3 months following your session. You can also contact me at any time
in the future for re-orders of archived prints.

Q: How many images will I get during each session?
A: Number of photos varies, however, approximately 50-100 photos per hour
of event coverage is typical.
For family and individual portraits, the number will range from approximately
10-20 images in a typical session, depending on the number of poses and wardrobe changes. An “essentials” or head shot session will typically yield between 5-10 images.

Q: When is the best time to book an appointment?
A: I do my best to work around client scheduling needs. For portrait sessions,
please book at least 1-2 weeks in advance to guarantee availability.

Q: Where do portrait sessions take place?
A: I work primarily as a location-based photographer. I bring the camera to you,
and your portrait sessions take place in the comfort and convenience of your home, backyard or office.
Sessions can also be arranged for a variety of outdoor locations (availability varies based on time of year).
Parks and cityscapes make a great backdrop for your photos. Need ideas? I’ll be happy to suggest a location in the area from a collection of great spots that I’ve scouted in advance.
In-studio sessions can also be arranged if requested; please book your session at least 2 weeks in advance to allow for space availability.

Q: What happens if it rains on the day of my outdoor photo shoot?
A: In the event of rain during a scheduled outdoor session, a rain date will be provided. Alternate days will be arranged at the time the session is booked.

Q: How long does a typical portrait session last?
A: Professional head shot and “essentials” sessions typically last between 30-45 minutes.
Deluxe portrait sessions last approximately 1-2 hours in length. This provides the opportunity for a variety of posed and candid shots, wardrobe changes (if desired), location set-up and changes.

Q: What should I wear for my portrait?
A: In general, I recommend avoiding anything too “trendy.” What usually works best is anything that you feel most comfortable and confident wearing. After all, when you feel your best, you’ll look your best!
When you contact me to schedule your appointment, I’ll provide some recommendations and basic guidelines for choosing what to wear, makeup, jewelry and hair styles in order to capture your best appearance. You’re also welcome to include multiple wardrobe changes if you would like to do so.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A: For your convenience, personal checks, PayPal and all major credit cards are accepted.
